hello! new to SR

I want to find out if I can use a xanax after being off suboxone for 3-4 days, coming on 4.

I am asking because I dont want to screw up being off the medicine, but I want to combat my major anxiety/restlessness at the same time.

Confident on not relapsing that is why I came here about this, cause if there is any chance of setting me back, I will not do it. minor nausea, runs, really bad anxiety/leg restlessness.

Still can function and go to work every morning at 9 and school at night, sleep is the main thing, and my mom offered me the xanax, so im asking you guys where to find this out.

My question--have you asked your Dr. about this first? In the meantime--Welcome! Glad you are here!

Nope

In order to get another appointment I have to pay the 100 and can't do that, I'm just going to wait for the bill and not go back to that office. I won't do it if I can't find the information elsewhere, these symptoms should be gone soon I suppose. I was on 2mg for awhile then 1 every other day n would forget a lot but be fine, and now that I'm not taking anything I got minor withdrawls, nothin that keeps me from functioning, ijust don't want my back to ache and the anxiety/restlessness to calm down

We really can't give medical advice here, as none of us are doctors, and even if we were, we couldn't diagnose over the net. What are you withdrawing from? Alcohol? Drugs? When I was going thru medical detox from alcohol I was given a few days worth of ativan, to stop the horrible anxiety, but not long enough to develop an addiction to it.

Xanax is a benzo and I got hooked on them after I had been sober from booze for 2 years. Went to rehab and I've been off them for 5 years now. I would not recommend taking them, especially since you won't be supervised by a doctor. How long were you on subs for, and did you wean off them or just go cold turkey?

I understand the anxiety and physical symptoms you are experiencing; when I quit benzos I was a mess for at least 2 weeks.

Hang in there and keep reading and posting.

p.s. you may wish to check out our Substance Abuse forum - lots of addicts there with their own experience with subs and coming off them.

Hi and Welcome,

It's never a good idea to take someone else's medication.

I wish you well in your recovery.
