First my clothes were way too big and soon they are going to be too small!!!

A: I can't afford to buy an entire wardrobe one size up!
B: I'm a girl ... I don't want to put on any weight!

I'm eating things I haven't eaten since my twenties, like chocolate! I don't have a sweet tooth and suddenly I can't go a day without.

I've got to do something before I have nothing left to wear but I'm scared I'll freak if I lose the only fun thing left - food!!

What did you guys do? Or are you all skinny?

Gaining weight is better than being on dope. I thought all clothes in Englandland were free too?

Clothes are free but you have to go on a waiting list which is about 10 years long - shorter than the waiting list for a hip replacement, but longer than the one for a heart bypass, LOL!! Never said the system was perfect!

I exercise a lot. That seems to help me de-stress and not get TOO big (considering I'm eating a pop tart and chili cheese fritos right now). plus, I don't drink any soda.

Ooooh emimily, your diet sounds similar to mine! I could just live on chips (like fries, but better!!) and chocolate. And I've stopped running coz of my back, but the doc said I should start again - my mental health is more fragile than my back!!!! So, tomorrow.

I shall have to google georgy gal, windy, see if it is allowed!!! I'm soon going to resemble my avatar if I'm not careful.

When I started on Methadone I gained about 15 pounds. Since the day after I stopped taking it I have had these really bad hunger pains, like all day. Before I could go each day and maybe have a bowl of cereal, now I am actually eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also get them between meals so I drink 2 bottles of water each time. It does help to fill you up, it's good for you and it helps cleanse your body faster!!

Oh yeah, the only part of my body that has lost any weight yet is my face. I look like a strung out junkie. My hubby said I look better but I really don't see it yet. White, pale face, dark circles under eyes, dry lips and my cheekbones are starting to cave in, why couldn't my stomach cave in? Damn female genes!!

well if you were drinking alot of alcohol your body is craving sugar,,,needs substitution, and I have been told that will diminish the need any way. I have been on a tootsie pop marathon, was eating chocolate, but found the tootsie pops last alot longer..

Lost, seriously, when I first quit, I gained weight, too. In my case, and I'm sure I'm quite normal, it evened out and I was able to eat normally again and my weight settled back down. Right now, you're not so far out, so I'd not worry about it.

When I got off meth I gained like 50 lbs. The weight did not come off overnight. I took a lot of exercise and a lot of self discipline. I did lose the weight and felt great! (i used meal replacement shakes and ate regular food and walked 3.3 miles per day)

This time around I have gained 12 lbs. I am going to have to work out and lower my intake once again.


Don't ever go back. The trade off will NEVER work! I tried it back in the 90's. It almost ruined my life.

Just go to Weight watchers or something and get active. this can be done!

Like most of us, my body was malnourished when I got clean. First, I gained weight (something like thirty pounds). Then I lost weight (went down to double digits). Now, I'm about the same weight I was in my early 20s (I'm now 40). I don't eat meat or much refined sugar.

Honestly? Like cc said, unless you replace drugs with food, your weight should settle at what's healthy for you.
