Right now!
Are you being kind to yourself right now? I thought this was great and wanted to share, good for anyone in recovery, no matter how much time you have.........

Now is the Time
Now is the time, the only time there is.
And if we are not kind to ourselves right now, we certainly cannot expect
respect or consideration from others.
We have found we can enjoy, sober, every good thing we enjoyed while drinking
-- and many, many more.
It takes a little practice, but the rewards more than make up for the effort.
To do so is not selfish, but self-productive.
Unless we cherish our own recovery, we cannot survive to become
unselfish, ethical, and socially responsible people.

Good one Scott.
I am the type of person that is very down on themselves, I used to be worse than I am now. I used to really hate myself.
Also, it is good to sometimes just think, "I am sober right now, enjoy it", and I do enjoy being sober. Sometimes I need to remind myself.

I'm another one into self flagellation. I did congratulate myself this afternoon after having an urge for a drink. Feeling so bad has always been a trigger. But no sooner did my alcoholic voice want to get a drink than my sober voice said "nothin' doin'!!" And played thru to the nasty end. So passed it up and congratulated myself on sound thinking. Not allowing myself to jump back into that hole was pretty kind of me.
but I'm not kind to myself as a regular thing tho, must make a deliberate effort to do it more often.
