boring post...sorry
Hi Everyone,
Having read a lot of posts on this website, Ive learned that AA helps a lot of people stay sober. Thats what I'm going for in my life but I need to meet some people who have had similar experiences and maybe make a few new sober friends lol. Anyway, I am a little insecure about showing up to places alone and not having anyone to sit with. If there is anyone reading this post who lives in DC and has any experience with AA in the area, can you send me private mesage? I would REALLY appreciate it. Have a great weekend! :ghug3

Hi...
I spent my first 8 years of AA in D.C.
I usually attended meetings in Georgetown ...Foggy Bottom
and Dupont Circle. Relatively safe areas with people
walking around well lit streets.
If you live in the surburbs and not D.C. proper
you might be more comfortable going there.
You can ask a friend to go with you.
Sorry I have lost contact with my AA friends there
or I could have a woman meet you.
Here is the AA phone number....202-966-9115
Hope this helps...

I think you can call the AA hotline and have someone from AA in your area meet up with you at a meeting. Maybe ask for someone your age? Each time I've gone (I don't go anymore) I was never "alone" for long. You'll meet a lot of people and get numbers fast! I can almost promise you that!! Hope someone PMs you and I really do hope you enjoy your meeting.

I went to my first meeting today and I was pretty intimidated at first walking through the door not knowing anyone. But within minutes people were saying hello and when I said this was my first meeting some many people were so genuinely happy I was there i felt among friends right away. It was really worth it and now I have several numbers for people I can call if I need too.
