Introducing Myself
Hi
I'm happy to have found this site.
I've had a drinking problem for a little over 4 years, and it got worse over time. The last 6 months of my drinking (Oct 07-April 08) I was drinking at all hours, every day. I knew this was a problem for a long time, and one morning I decided I had enough and checked myself into Outpatient rehab. It went really well and I learned a lot, but I relapsed on July 10th and went a binge for a week, with disasterous results.
So now I'm back, sober date of Thursday, July 17, and just trying to do more things right this time. I figured finding as many sober-social networks as possible would help.
I'm in my mid-20s, female, and live in the NYC-metro area. I choose the name "Eidetic" because an old boyfriend used to say I had an Eidetic memory. This was true until I started drinking heavily. I've had so many blackouts the past few years, that a lot of my life seems like a blur. And I want to be able to remember my life, so that's a big part of my motivation to get sober.
So, looking forward to talking to you all.

Hey -
We're in the same age range and I can imagine what you're going through...sober only since 7/20, but I keep working on that each night when I return home from work. Keep up the good work!
