I think it's always wise to see your doctor
especially in early recovery.
I did begin vitamins and supplements
when I first stopped drinking.
Don't know about pot tho.
Good to know you are working towards a better future.

My body went completely haywire when I stopped using.
Honestly though, now that I'm clean for a while, I've never felt better physically or mentally.
I think you'll feel the same way in a short period of time.
(Never hurts to see a doctor.)
For me, I slowly started to schedule activities around periods where I could drink until I eventually had drinking as my only activity. When I sobered up I would get bored because not drinking took the 1 activity I was doing away from me. That was also combined with the fact that my body was used to the depressant effects of alcohol every day. When I stopped using I was constantly bored and tired because of this.
Your situation sounds similar to this. I think we both need to get more involved in the activities we used to enjoy before using took over and slowly the energy levels should return. I am also working on maintaining a healthy diet so my body is now getting what it needs to move me forward.
Now, I am filling my free time with constructive activities and I am finding that my energy level is returning, it just took some time to get over the effects of the booze.
I noticed someone suggested checking with your Dr.; that is a good idea too. That way you can get an idea of what your body may be needing to move forward and they can tell you if there are any underlying health issues that you need to be aware of.
Thanks for your post and keep moving forward!

There are a lot of changes that happen in your body when you detox- from anything. It's also fairly normal to crave sugary foods and drinks- because you're cutting off a lot of carbohydrates that you were taking in via alcohol. If your body keeps going to sleep- let it sleep.

At first, I was restless, couldn't sleep well, sweats, etc. Then after all of that, I fell asleep easily, and could have napped all day, every day, if I didn't have to work! I think all of the years of not getting good sleep (alcohol inhibits or prevents good REM sleep), my body said, "let's rest now".
