I'm paraphrasing from The Hope of a Homecoming, a Christian book on prodigals:
In the sport of bullfighting in Mexico, bulls are selected on the basis of their bravery and those who will give the audience the best show. But a bull cannot have prior exposure to the ring or the matador. So, how to determine the bravery of the bull? They first test the courage of its mother in the ring!
"Parents of prodigals (addicts) are on a parallel journey with their children. We are not on the sideline talking about it; we are in the bullring staring down the scariest opponent imaginable. Prayer is our sword."
The authors end with the hope that our prayers would be powerful.
So, moms and dads of addict children of any age, may your prayers infuse you with courage today!!!
