My Name is Geri and I am an addict :)
Hi All, thank you for all of your responce's and encouragemenet yesterday. I appreciate it all. I dived into the NA Big Book that I have and holy smokes, I think I underlined almost every word! Bottom line, I am an addict, period. What is was, doesn't matter, what matters is that I am an addict and can not use, not even one of anything that I have or could form an obession over. What a relief!
I started an NA Journal on my puter last night. I prayed to my higher power and surrendered my addiction to him. I destroyed what was left of my addictive substance, and let it go.
I will now move onward, with the help of my higher power, NA and you people.
Thank you for accepting me here

People who don't suffer from the disease of addiction can't quite understand when, at the moment we realize that we are an addict and no different from any other addict out there, we can say, "Wow, what a relief!"
I know when I finally admitted/realized that, it was comforting.Until then, I thought that I was some uniquely sick individual that had no hope or help available to relieve my of my pain.
Welcome again! Stick around. Miracles happen every day, if only we believe. (Man, that sounded like some Disney poster, didn't it?) lol
Keep Coming Back, It Works IF You Work It!

Hello All!
Geri here, Addict from Windsor!
In Reading the NA Basic Text, I could really identify with the obsession over the drug! No Kidding! When I didn't have it, it was all I thought about or how I could get it. Without it I felt angry and ended up in a self pity party, which of course would lead me back to getting more. Wonderful! I have been clean of this final addiction since Sunday night, and of course the addiction is striving to win, and as long as I stay away from the first one, then that can't lead me to more. I am beginning to work on Step one, answering the questions. I think this will prove helpful. I will stay in the minute, or second if I have to!
Have an awesome clean day everyone!
