Gravity and I have 100 days sober!!!
Gravity and I have 100 days sober!!!
Well, it's been a long and interesting 100 days, but we've both made it this far.
I want to thanks everyone here for all the support and understanding, particularly through the first month or two, as I know I wouldn't be sitting here with a cup of coffee without that help.
If I was going to pass anything on, it's that I've made it this far by taking it one day at a time. I count every single day, as every day brings different challenges.
I know there's a lot of emotional baggage which has resurfaced, and I have finally joined a home group, with a view to getting a temporary sponsor at least so I can begin my journey through the steps - I'm not in a rush, it took me 18 years to come to this point!
I've learned how to have faith and accept life as it comes, and I've found myself in a place far better than the one I was in four months ago.
All the cliches ring true: Take it easy, keep it simple, learn how to let life happen and realise that we are powerless over alcohol, the first drink is the one we can't have, and that one day at a time I can stay sober and enjoy what comes my way - even the bad times are a part of life that I was unable to process while I was drinking.
Thanks again for everything,
ndz
