Hello all!
I have been quite hesitant about posting on these boards, I must admit. I didn't want to have to admit defeat once again to myself and others regarding my struggle with alcohol. However, I have made it 17 days so far and I am feeling significantly more solid in maintaining my sobriety this time around. I have NEVER made it this long! I have never thought I even could! I survived the withdrawls and the initial emotional rollercoaster of fear, shame and guilt and find myself needing to reach out to others that understand my plight. Although I am sober, I am left with the tattered ruins of my life and reading these boards have been very inspiring as I take on the task of recreating myself. I hope nobody minds my occasional comment here on this forum as I traverse the rocky road that I hope leads to my redemption. I am ready to start living my life again.
Best wishes to all!!

Hi Christy,
Welcome!
Getting through 17 days is great. And, yes, the 'tattered ruins' can be hard to face, but you will be able to get through it. I hope you keep reading and posting.
