First Steps?
Hi all, I am new here. I am looking for support to help me quit using marijuana. I am a daily user and I have gotten to the point where I don't want to do anything, would rather lay around all day, and my life is going nowhere. I have tried to quit before but always crave it. Half the time I tell myself I can still smoke and have a normal life. But I know there are things I need to do that I can't get done. Where do I start? I love smoking so much, I am scared to quit. It makes me feel happier and I am scared of feeling sad when I don't smoke. What can I do?
Hi and Welcome,
Learning to deal with life's ups and downs and all the emotions involved, is a big part of recovery. Most of us addicts have buried our feelings and one of the scariest things to do, is to realize that we have to face those feelings and deal with them.
Change your routines, step out of the vicious cycle and do one thing today that you don't normally do. Keep reading here and you'll find lots of support and information.

thank you anna. I am so disgusted with myself right now that i want to change everything this instant, but i know I will only be overwhelmed if i think that way. just getting up is hard sometimes! thank you for your advice though
Nothing is going to change overnight. But believe me I know how you feel.
But wanting everything to change at the drop of a hat just made my addiciton worse from frustration.
It can change for the worse that way tho.
Take it easy and do what you gotta do.
Glad you are here.
