Living Sober
I've started reading 'Living Sober'. Right off the bat I read something that really hit me:
"..how to handle sobriety...before we couldn't; so we drank".
I put the book down and meditated on this for awhile.
HOW TRUE! (for me)
It isn't that I have a problem 'not drinking', I have a problem 'living sober'.
If living sober....as opposed to just not drinking....was no problem and I embraced it, I wouldn't struggle with 'should I or shouldn't I drink'?
I'm hoping things change now that I am embracing recovery which I believe is going to lead me to sobriety rather than just not drinking..

Hi Tay-lyn,
I believe that drinking is a symptom of our 'issues'. We don't know how to live life on life's terms, and to deal with emotions, so we seek to escape. Getting sober for me, involved starting out and finding my way in the world.
But, what a great journey!

Keep reading tay, Living Sober is an amazing guide to living a sane and sober life. I've had quite a few copies of the book, but keep giving them away to newcomers!
