My RAS' new year's eve

I'm so proud of my son especially over these holidays.

As you all know he went into rehab for the month of october only to come out and relapse the day after he got home. It was, thank God a one day relapse, and he's been doing very well since.

Last night he went out for New Years Eve, WITH HIS SPONSOR AND HIS NA FAMILY!! He had fun and I had a very peaceful new years eve.
I stayed home with my oldest son and his girl and the baby as well as babysat for my daughter so 4yr old and 12 yr old grandsons.
My oldest had to go to work at 12:30 so it was my husband, my son and myself that rang in the new year. We live in a row home in "the neighborhood" so going outside was exciting, fireworks and all. The event lasted a whole 15 minutes but it was the first New years eve we stayed home. (I owned a bar and worked all the new years eve's in the past)
I like staying home on amatuer night! lol

rahsue,
I am glad that you enjoyed your night last night. Glad that your son had a good time sober, and with his other family. I'm sure it was a relief for you knowing who he was with and that he would be safe, for a change. LOL.
Your recovery is showing and be as proud of that as you are of your sons.
Have a safe and Happy New Year

Great New Year and Great News. What a nice combination. Happy to see your son is doing well and so are you. Good news always needs to be shared and I thank you for doing that. Hugs, Marle

It sounds like he is planning ahead and making good choices. Their recovery improves when they realize that life can be fun and interesting sober.

Hugs and Happy New Year.
