Doing well!
Hi all,
I'm settling into the swing of things at work. First couple of weeks back were a little rocky, but I reflected and changed some things to keep my sanity and serenity!
I'm meeting new people at work and enjoying their company after work. We've had a few socials and it's nice to just be out and about. I'm definitely happy and found my smile and laughter again!
As for family stuff, that's always another side of the coin.
My mom came home last Friday and brought my Grandma to visit for about a month.
Things with my sister are difficult right now, so I'm detaching as best as I can. My mom is still needing support as she's been the caretaker for my grandma for awhile now and is now back to her home and my sister's issues. My parents will need to set and follow through with boundaries with my sister. My dad told me to just take care of myself, focus on myself and work, and try not to get caught up in everything. It's a relief in a sense to have his approval and permission to let go. I don't feel selfish or guilty anymore. I know I didn't need to hear that in order to do so, but it makes it easier for me.
I've offered to go to some meetings with my mom and share my books with her. As a mother, I can't understand her feelings, but as a codie, too, I can somewhat relate. We're not sure if my sister is using again, but there are signs.
I'll do what I can to love and detach from a distance. I'll visit when I want to and stay only as long as I want to. I'm doing well and back on track!
I may not post as much now, but I'm still reading and learning each day!
