Really scared for my son!

Last night , my son got into a bad car accident! He was extremely drunk,Thank god injuries were not critical for anyone, his car was smashed, air bag and seat belt saved his life. He got three tickets, speeding and DUI and DWI. These charges are felony in state of arizona. I have a six year old grandson,my son is his father and now my son is looking at a long time in jail and the financial stress this will cause on my daughter in-law. I am so angry... I hope this experience will wake him up to the effects of alcohol, I wish he never drank, The bar he was at overserved him, they should have cut him off, thats the law hare in az.I am angry at that too. I am going to turn them into the liquor board. He could have killed someone! They served him rum and cokes for 5 hours. my son has to be accountable, he has to pay the price and i am sure he will, the courts will see to that. maybe now he will change! But bars should be accountable too, and they broke the law and I dont want it to happen again to someone else! God be with me, I will not enable my son with money for lawyer. He made his bed,now he can lay in it! I will look out for my grandson, he is the bright light in my life...

Keep focusing on you, and protect and care for your grandson. Maybe this will be the bottom your son needs, he'll only change if he wants to. I thank God every day for watching over me for 27 years, for 25 of those I drank and drove daily. Why I never killed anyone, had accidents, or received a DUI is beyond me, I can only assume God had other plans for me.

Good to see another resident of Scottsdale posting. If you're not already going to Al-Anon meetings you might consider attending some here http://www.northscottsdalefellowshipclub.com/

Your son drove drunk. I see the blame as totally his fault.
