How do you do it?
I tried to get sober two years ago. I couldn't do it. Then I went into to rehab, and afterwards kept drinking, and kept drinking..how the hell do you people do it?
And, I do admire you for you doing it. I tried AA for about two months before I went into rehab. I just could not quit. I didn't know anything about withdrawals, but I thought I was dying and wanted to die...

Are you looking to get sober now? Have you hit your bottom?
I go to AA. It works for me.Ive seen many people who were hopeless that AA helped. When you say it didnt work how much did you put into it.Did you use as much effort to try and get sober as you used to get drunk?
Psychocat..
Went to 2 rehabs..and AA didn't work for me for awhile..
I never gave it a chance...I placed my alkie boyfriend ahead of it..
I went back into hell simply because he was there..
I placed weed ahead of it...
I placed speed ahead of it..
Most of all..I placed not being able to live life on life's terms ahead of it...
I guess you could say..I always went back to alcohol to escape all
uncomfortable situations and feelings..to numb out...
I found all King Alcohol did for me was to bite me in the a--.
AA did not work for me because I did not take the help so freely offered..
But when I was ready I found AA was ALWAYS ready to help.
Their hand was always extended..it was up to me to grasp it.
You can recover..simply follow directions and take simple suggestions.
It works if...we work it.

Whatever path you follow, you have to really want it. I hope you find your path and can get your life back, I nearly lost mine and now I am free and living not just barely existing. Smart Recovery works for many and others will be along soon with their ESH.

Hello and welcome,
I had to totally surrender and believe in my heart that I had no choice but to admit that I was powerless over my consumption of alcohol. I was one of the unfortunates that had to go back out there and lose everything I had...
My only option was recovery and death...I nearly died the last time out there...
What has helped me is SR, and AA...I have support twenty four hours a day...
