Falling Asleep

Hey...I've been having a really hard time falling asleep. I hear that's normal when a person first stops drinking. I found I used to drink myself to sleep. However even when I'm not drinking I never want to go to sleep. It's like it's lonely for me. Weird? I think so. Any imput would be appreciated. Thanks

Sleep is so overrated *LOL*

What I found works for me (sometimes) I fill my day with so much to do (and do it) so that when I lay down, I am tired and sleep.

What others have said and I am going to try... wake up at the same time every day and go to sleep at the same time every night. If you miss the night sleep time, still get up at the same time in the morning.
No TV on. No light on. Cooler temp in the room if able.

For me it would be breaking bad habits of staying up more so then distractions around me.

Oh yes, Best and I are fellow insomniacs.

Actually Best has helped give me confidence to believe that I will be okay, even if I don't sleep much. I was letting the fear get in the way. You know I wouldn't sleep well and then I'd worry about the next night and so, I wouldn't sleep well again.

You're still early on in sobriety, so be patient and hopefully things will improve.

mps101..

Fellow insomniac here too...

I have found many folks on the Forums have a problem with this...

For me, I obstain from coffee, strong tea, and cola's a few hours before

bedtime..

And like my mom says...

"When you're tired enough, you'll sleep."

Love,

IO
