Dear Sober & Recovery family,

I haven't posted on the Anxiety board for quite some time now, but I've began to slip into depression recently & I've been trying to medicate myself with Alcohol, Codeine & Valium, even after I was going so well & nearly weaned myself off Valium altogether, now I've gotta go through withdrawal from Valium, all over again, which is painful....

I decided to start taking 75 mgs of Efexor XR, today, which my Doctor originally prescribed me & I'm already noticing a difference in my mood....

My subconscious thoughts have been all mixed up & somewhat disturbing in the last week or so & today I decided that I probably should try this new anti-depressant called Efexor XR....

Please pray for me as I'm going through a hard time right now, with anxiety & I hope that the Efexor stops my panic attacks....

Hi spacecat.I've been on effexor XR for 6 months or so...it really did help me with the depression......but it didn't really help ease the anxiety for me....i have to supplement with Xanax,when i feel especially anxious...good luck...KT

I don't want to take Benzos anymore & I hope that this drug helps me with my anxiety so I can get off Valium.....

Xanax was no good for me & I don't want to take benzos...
