Thumbs up Happy post :-)

Would you believe that I am actually posting the fact I feel happy, yeah guys you read that right, I CW feel happy!!!

Got up this morning felt a bit down and anxious (who knows what about - breathing I expect!! lol) Did some of the stuff the therapist reccommended and then tidied the house, cleaned kitchen bathroom etc. B'F popped round for a little while and we just chilled in front of tv, went to Asda got some shopping queued at the till, then went to Tesco (the scarier in my opinion of the 2 big superstores - why? - I have NO idea!!!lol) wandered round looking at stuff (yes wandered, not charged round like I was being chased by wild hungry wolves lol) bought 2 or 3 things I didnt need!!! queued and paid. Drove to my pals went for lunch in busy fast food restaurant (very healthy!!) and SAT IN - busy kids screaming, flourescent lights etec etc, I sent my pal to sit down whilst I queued for food!!

Went to large pet shop spent about 25 minutes there and queued again about 12 people in front started to get panicky but did what the therapist told me to do, and though not overjoyed, nop full blown panic I made it.

Then went to pals for cup of tea then drove to town centre and went to a few shops and queued to buy 3 more books!! (i have never read as much, 1 about panic attacks, 1 about self hypnosis and under the influence)

Drove home and am just in

What a bussy SUCCESFUL PANIC FREE DAY :-) (how do I get my smiley icons to work I want to do lots of them.!!!!!!)

Am even going out for a family meal tomorrow night... (loads of smileys!!!)

Big hugs to everyone x

WOW Wolf that is great.

I remember in early sobriety going to the grocery store with my 'list', getting about 1/2 way through the list, and then actually leaving the cart and running out of the store. It was horrible! But slowly I was able to get over it. I would go and only get a few items, get in line, and get checked out before the panic hit. By the time I was a year sober I could pretty well do a week's shopping in one trip.

You did excellent!!!! That is amazing!! Looks like your therapy is working, good for you.

Please remember, if we didn't have some 'bad' days now and then, how would we know when we were have a 'good' day? We would have nothing to compare it too.

Love and hugs,

******{Wolfie}}}} Im having a bad day, but you just put a smile on my face. I am so glad to hear you enjoyed your day.

I know how hard simple things are when you suffer from panic attacks.

really happy for you.

Hugs,
Beth

P.S I cant get my smiley faces to work either. It really bums me out sometimes.
Let me know if you figure out what the problem is.

Yoo Hoo Cyber!

For months....when I shopped for my mom and had loooong

grocery lists with oodles of coupons..I would get short of breath

and panicky right at the last items.

One time I sat down and analyzed this.

1. I found I rarely ate before shopping so my blood sugar probably dropped.

2. The LAST isle was the liquor isle..oooh all that cold beer...staring at
me while hungry and panicky..not a good combo!

So I changed my behavior..eating a snack first and doing the

shopping down THOSE isles first.

Funny..I forgot about this until now..months later.

We are fuuny human beings, huh?

My best to you!

Love,

Sherry

y'know Sherry, I used to curse it, but I'm SO glad I live in a state where alcohol ISN'T available in general stores...means just about every corner has a liquor store though !

CW I'm so happy for you, the panic does get better with time and work. Woo Hoo, good for you!!!!

And dee, I couldn't agree more. Thank god you can't buy alcohol in supermarkets in Australia, that would be horrible to deal with while you're buying grocerys. At least we don't have to face that dilemma!!!!

That's great news CW. To quote BTO, You aint seen nothing yet ! It gets SOOOOO much better.

As far as reading. I've always been an avid reader, but de-tox and early sobriety were doubly so. I chose books by their thickness ! War and peace ? Check. The Stand, check. Atlas Shrugged ? check. Dune ? Check. The entire Dark Tower Series, twice ? Check.

great job!

Thanks for the uplifting post.......I never suffered from panic/anxiety attacks when i was drinking....or maybe i did,i just drank through them....drinking gives you courage........or so i thought.....Dealing with the fears SOBER is an adjustment for all of us,myself included.....So,every time we get through a stressful or anxious moment SOBER,it's an accomplishment......and,each time we get through it,it makes us stronger.....or so I am told....lol
thanks for the post.....KT

You know what you might have a point there where I am concerned too!!! Didnt go near alcohol aisle, and ate breakfast, had cup of tea at pals had lunch had cup of tea at pals........

Woke up late this morning felt a bit anxious again( not mega, just not as good as yesterday) but woke up late, no breakfast and have just had pasta and fresh sauce for lunch and a can of coke so will see if that improves things. I'll be interested to see...
Actually come to think of it head a bit sore too, mmmm bet thats something to do with lack of food and hydration!!! Away to have a pint of water too

Thanks for replies and kind wishes.

Hope you all have a great Sunday
