No they don't sell our info. to anyone. Especially our home info. I don't
know how they would even get that info.
But yea, if you have concerns talk to MG and/or Doug.
I know there are ways to skim information from public sites - ebay is an excellent example. If I bid on something at ebay - I start getting strange mail for a while. I do not know how it is done or how to protect ourselves from it.
It does sound like you are identifying some spam, tho. That is a good thing.
Sorry this is happening to you, but it is certainly not from any "selling" going on.
To contact Doug or MorningGlory (MG)... just go to your Personal Messages (PM) and type DOUG or MorningGlory into the TO line, write your message and pressn "send".

Hey there Highlander,
Sober Recover does _not_ release _any_ private information to anybody. The public forums are open to the whole wide world, so anything you post in the public forums _will_ be seen by the whole world.
That means that your "nick", such as DesertEyes, will get sucked up by all the internet mailing lists and used to generate all possible email addresses. Anybody who has the address [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], etc. etc. is going to start getting junk email.
If your regular postal mail address (snail mail) is listed _anywhere_ on the internet where the junk mail generators can find it, they will find it sooner or later. I have not gone looking, but if you have an account on myspace, aol or ***** using Highlander99 then the generators will go crawling around myspace, aol and ***** looking for your account and fish out whatever information you placed there.
That's why SoberRecovery does not ask for personal identifying information. Anywhere we could put it would eventually get sucked up by a mail generator. They're called "harvesters", and are a type of "web spider".

The rule is that if you _ever_ put it on the web it will be seen by _everybody_ on planet, sooner or later.
