17 Days and feeling great.....
17 days today and I feel great. No urge to drink at all which is such a relief. I have gotten so many things done in the last week and a half. Not be drunk makes doing housework, yardwork and other basics of life easier to do. I have even gotten some painting done. Things in my life are still a little bit difficult, but my head is clear. This site has been a big help in my recovery. I'm thankful for all who post here.....

Thank you for that inspiring post.
One of my biggest issues with drinking is the "time" I lose. Drunk, then hungover. Drunk, then hungover. Days on end of not accomplishing much of anything.
I had some really important reports I needed to get done over the weekend. Didn't get that accomplished, and didn't even make it to work today.
I can hardly wait to be able to post a similar post.

I'm pulling for both of you, sending some prayers up.
I learned a few key things very early in sobriety from some wise old-timers in AA. Abstinence works. I know that I can never safely take a drink again. Also, I learned that I wouldn't die if I didn't drink, that I would wake up the next morning if I went to bed sober.
Two years later these simple things still work, one day at a time.

Last week I was at an Italian restaurant, and remembered the last time I had dined there with friends. When we left I made an excuse to run back in, where I finished off the wine that they'd left in their glasses.
Oh God was I ever sick, sick, sick.......
