i've been feeling strong for a while now, i just can't get my head from up my arse today, my friend has chronic liver disease and he's looking really bad. its so painful watching him struggle to stay alive. if the doctors put him on a waiting list for a new liver then it could take upto six months and i really don't think he'll be able to wait that long. i am seeing what drinking has done to him and what it is capable of doing to others but it aint stopping me from feeling like drowning my sorrows with theaid of a drink myself. he's told me stay strong. but i don't know how. i can't bear to lose another person i hold close to my heart.

Dear Rusty, I don't really know what to say. I am not one of the wise old-timers here, but I do want you to know that you are not alone. There is a lot of support and love here which you will soon find if you keep coming back.

thanx townie, means a lot. i just don't know what to do right now, i'm slowly losing my faith. his so called friends are saying he knew exactly what he was doing. until they go through the battles of alcoholism themselves they'll never understand. he just don't deserve to go out this way. i'll keep battling

little while but not for long. You might try relaxing, turning

it over, gently, just letting it go for now, to whatever Higher Power

you do have faith in, do this for your friend and for yourself

Hi Rusty, I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm sorry about your friend.

As f-up and unfair life is sometimes. I know if i drink, it wouldn't solve anything. I also know it'll make me feel even worst later, being hung over and depressed as heck too. In that state i wouldn't do good for myself or anyone
else.
My Gf in HS passed a week away from the prom. I don't talk about it much.
My drinking didn't bring her back. It nevered took away that pain.

Rusty, I feel for your pain..I truly do
But I don't understand how this questions your faith. Gosh, I sooo don't want to come off as unfeeling..cuz pain is awful. I'm a smoker...I also drank for the past 20 years of my life. If I die of liver disease or lung cancer that would be a consequence of my lifestyle...not the deliverance of a punishing God. Perhaps I misunderstood your question of faith.
