Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.

By the grace of my HP and people
like you here in SR I havent had
a drink of Alcohol since 8-11-90.

For that and you I am truely
grateful.

For most of my life I always found
a reason to drink...drink for good
times,bad times, holidays, celebrations,
you name it....

Then 16 yrs ago I admitted I had a
drinking problem and sort help. Today
Im sober armed with the tools and
knowledge of my disease to help
me stay sober one day at a time.

Well, today is a fine example of a reason
why most people drink...its St. Patrick's
Day...The wearing of the green...

For all of us sober folks here in SR...lets
find as many reasons why not to drink
today.

First of all I would become a number one
A-hole , smashed :friday:

Second...Id might be ready to kick someones butt
if they pi55ed me off bad enough.

and one more for the road..id end up like this
guys staggering all over the place ,
ending up who know where with who knows
who .....hmmmm

Can u add to the list for why not to drink today?

I have so many I could not list them all. I love my new sober life. I know if I pick up that would all be gone, and I would be livig my life around a bottle. I love the fact that if some one sudjests doing something late at night or some other time when I would have drinking My first thought that eneters my head is " Now When will I be able to sneak a couple drinks?", or "when will I be able to drink?" My life used to revolve around my drinking, but now I have a freedom I used to never know.

Just for today i'll leave the drinking to somebody else and in doing so
i'll leave the mental torment with them also !.

Because corned beef and cabbage already produce enough gas to be almost lethal...add alcohol and I might kill my cats!!!!!

I am not drinking today because I want to more forward. Everytime I took a drink I took a step backwards. Each moment that passes by that I am sober I feel stronger and more in control of me.

Been there, done that! 32 drunken St. Patrick's Days was quite enough to last me a lifetime, thank you. But, I don't begrudge anyone else who can celebrate the day with a few beers...even an Irish coffee or two. Heck, if I can remember that far back, it was even fun for me for 10 years or so.

If I am going to turn green, I would rather it not be from drinking so much that I puke all over the place to make myself turn green.

They started out early this morning at the ST. Patrick's
Day parade. A few drinks here and a few drinks there
:friday:...happy happy joy joy....oops it looks a tho
ones not gonna make it...

oh here he is....what's he doing? Is he giving up?
Admiting he has had enough?

Well he thought he could be cool and

Before you know it his head is spinning
like a tornado

and becomes very pi55ed. Now and says....

Just like this little dude, remember how
easy it was and is to blame everyone
and everything else for our down fall.

What else will happen to him or her before
he admits complete defeat....and that
his or her life is unmanageable....
