Hey person197,

I'm so happy your checking out meetings. If you believe yourself an alcoholic, then go to a discussion meeting. It may seem scary and odd. But remember, the people there are just like you. They have problems that they want to solve. AA helps them do that.

Good luck! Send us a note letting know how you made out.

i personally enjoy speaker meetings a lot. if you're nervous about talking or being involved then they would be good as you are listening to someone elses story for the larger part of the meeting. everyones different though, it depends a lot on the meeting itself and the people, instead of the true format. give them all a shot, try different times, find some place where you feel comfortable. let me know how it goes!!

Just For Today

I only can say that if you have one foot in the past, one in the future, you are not living the present. Take it day by day, and work the steps. that is the mistake I made. You will find your new way of life. Good luck!

I love the speaker meeting I go to Wednesday, it's awesome. Tonight i went to a book study. We read from the big book. Sheesh, I think we got through 1 page, hehe!! The rest of the meeting was talking about our situations from what we read in the book. It was awesome. There were only 7 of us, so it was more personal. I suggest going to a speaker meeting first. Just my opinion though, I'm just 18 days sober.

Golfman??? They arent scary or odd to me??? They rock! so........

I would suggest a Newcomers/Begginers for awhile.

Go and enjoy!
