Hope
Well we had dinner/lunch my AF and EM yesterday. Dad has been attending AA and my Mom has been attending alanon. I have to share that this is the first visit I have enjoyed being with them in so many years I can't remember the last time. Mom was like the old mom I remember from my 20's and I can't really comment on my Dad as we never really had an overly close relationship. So maybe there is hope, I know it is very early in their recover (28 days) but you have to have hope right?
28 days is still something to be impressed by! Early, yes, but they haven't walked away yet!
I'm glad you had a chance to see the real "mom" again. Hopefully you will be able to develop a relationship with your dad too as time goes on.
Congrats!

Thanks that is what I am hoping, I figure better late then never right. We are still all alive, that helps.
I have to say I am very impressed, didn't really expect it. Sometimes wish we had made a stand years ago maybe would have saved us a lot of pain and heartache. However, I guess everything happens when it is supposed to right.
I will keep you posted on our progress.
