Hi, my name is Tazman53 aka......
Martin P and I am an alcoholic! Gee I bet you all have never heard that before!
My sobriety date is 9/18/06, so I am new to the sobriety party, I can honestly say though that I do not miss in the least that 40+ year party of alcohol. I would be lying if I said I never had a good time drinking, but that was many years ago when I still had control, before alcohol controled me.
I am happy to be here, I look forward to listening to you all to help me maintain my sobriety, hopefully I can return the favor.

Thanks Guys, I had started a thread on AA in another forum and surprisingly discovered that a number of folks I had been chatting with for years were in the AA fellowship.
Welcome to the forum, Martin!
This is a great place to share and encourage each other. Congrats on your sober time. Sobriety is such a gift for me, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to share with other alcoholics. I hope you stick around...this is a wonderful place to be.
peace,
chip

Hello,
Well welcome Martin, this is the place to keep it real. I've been here for a few weeks and I love it. I post about everything under the recovery umbrella, it's a damn big one too.
We can all do this together since we could do it alone

Welcome Tazman! Me too. Those fun times came with such a high price tag though. Really, many different kinds of high price tags. And after the first few years, chances were that I was more likely to have a horrible time than a good time. My new life is by no means perfect, but I'm so grateful I don't have to live like that any more!
