Want to Play? NA Trivia
Want to Play? NA Trivia
OK I was thinking that this might not only be fun, but this will be a great thing to help a lot of us learn more about NA, it's history, etc. How we will do this is I will start off by asking a question. Then the first person to answer the question correctly goes ahead and ask the next trivia question. And so on! OK here we go
When was the first Basic Text Written, and then when was it published?

My source for this was in WIKIPEDIA and this is what it said.
Early in the history of N.A., different groups emphasized different aspects of recovery. In particular, the make-up and process of creating an N.A. text was a contentious period for the fellowship. Different factions supported different versions of the Basic Text, and in the ensuing power struggle there were many accusations made and resentments cultivated. The basis of the dispute was whether the service committees were described as a part of N.A., or as a separate group with no decision-making power. This dispute reached its nadir when the N.A. World Service Organization sued an N.A. member to prevent him from distributing unauthorized and allegedly misleading versions of the Basic Text. Although there are still some "traditionalist" N.A. members who use the third edition (revised) of the Basic Text, N.A. as a whole has agreed upon the 5th edition as being the currently "approved" version.[17]

The working title for this project for many years was the "Step Writing Guides." However, we recognized that the word "writing" imposed a limitation on members who may be unable to write or may choose not to use writing as the means for working the Twelve Steps. Therefore, the title became the Step Working Guides.
I have compared the two and there is a huge amount of difference in each of them. For one difference in the step writing guide it has homework assignments of readings out of the NA Basic Text, where in the Step Working Guide it has no assignments of reading at all. Also there is a big difference between the two as far as questions are concerned also. Now I maybe wrong so I :donno however overall they both get us to the same point! So I guess I might not agree that they are not different but from what you quote says that there is no difference. Your up!
