Run, Don't Walk to Your Nearest Alcathon!

The holidays are stressful for a lot of us. I look around, here at SR and in my recovery community, and I see so many people struggling with their sobriety and having a hard time with lots of issues - emotions, stress, money, family, work....

There is an amazing resource available to us. Most local communities have around the clock AA meetings over the holidays called Alcathons. The ones in my area started tonight at 9 p.m. and will go straight through to Friday evening. There will be meetings every hour, potluck food, community and people who can just be there for support.

If you don't have a place to go for Thanksgiving, go to an Alcathon. If you do have a place to go for Thanksgiving but it is stressful, go to an Alcathon before (and after) your event.

Please call your local AA Hotline to find out if there is one near you.

We don't have to pick up no matter what, family. Please reach out, be with people in recovery and turn this holiday into a miracle of recovery.

You don't have to be alone today. Reach out to others in recovery, here on SR or f2f in your area.

May you feel the blessings of love, gratitude and abundance today. Happy Thanksgiving.

I've been to some Alcathons and I enjoyed them. Good meetings, good company, and good food. Check one out near you

The area I got sober in had a alcohol free dance on New Year's Eve!

a bit more glamorous than sitting in Waffle House drinking black coffee...lol

Marathon meetings. If you have time, drop in, even if YOU don't feel like you might drink, help out those who are struggling that day.
