Relapsing was part of my recovery. I think you would be a rare one if you didn't. The point is to keep on trying.
The thing about name changes...I get it. I understand that walk of shame.
What saddens me are the people who have posted daily (twice daily, sometimes) accountability threads and who suddenly disappear. Again, I understand the disappearance. But if they come back here, I want to know. If they change names, then I won't. There are some people I am still thinking about...

I often wonder if anyone realizes that the depth of their shame and guilt is comparable to the joy and relief felt by all of us here seeing their return.

Never give up.

Good thread, Lady Blue. Thank you.

Nobody should ever feel embarrassed so much that they don't return. It happens. It's also great to see people return.

I am going to invoke the words of our beloved, on-hiatus Dee, though, about relapse. He has often said, "relapse is not part of recovery. It is part of alcoholism."

I kept reading and posting here and there even after I relapsed and was still drinking. I knew if I strayed too far from here I'd end up slipping down the rabbit hole pretty quickly again.

Doesn't matter where we're at on our journey, as long as we keep coming back, showing up for ourselves, we've got a fighting chance.

Thanks for the thread Ladyblue
