9 days sober!

Just wanted to share 9 WHOLE days sober! just a month ago I thought this was way out of reach but I'm here and I'm going to keep going forward. One day at time...sometimes one hour at a time. I'm surprisingly feeling better today. I went to see my mom and help her prepare for thanksgiving. Feeling good about my visit with her, however I am feeling very anxious about tomorrow. Every holiday for me the past 4 years, I've spent every thanksgiving falling asleep because I did way too much H...This is the first holiday sober and first time seeing my brother and sister in law since quitting...I'm sure they will be happy to see me and maybe they will notice I am doing better. I don't know, I guess I should stop over thinking. Good night everyone. Thank you all for your support this past 9 days!!

Great job! Wow.. that is an awesome accomplishment. Try not to think about it too much over the holidays, just enjoy your family.. and eat lots..

Happy Thanksgiving!

I was thinking of you yesterday wondering
how you were doing. It's good news to see
you have added another day sober.

Even tho today is a holiday doesnt mean
we can rest on our laurels or our own
self will. When we feel restless, irritable
or discontent, hungry, angry, lonely or
even tired, we have to take time to address
them.

Whether we talk about them with
another member in recovery or someone
who understands addictions, recovery
and sobriety it allows us to know we
have support, understanding, care and
concern waiting for us.

Being responsible for our own
recovery gives us that extra strength
and courage to remain sober one
more day doing whatever we need
to do to achieve happiness, health,
wisdom, knowledge, freedom from
addiction to live our life in the Sunlight
and not darkness.

Do whatever we need to do today
to remain sober or clean never forget
to say Please help me in the morning
and Thank You in the evening to your
HP. Higher Power of your understanding.

Not very sure by what you mean.....but if you read my past posts you'd see it wasn't easy for me. This is my 5th or 6th serious attempt to get sober and this is the longest I've made it. The difference is my mindset and that I sought OUTSIDE help. I realised I couldn't do this on my own. I would only continue to fail.
