Today is my daughters birthday. I remember struggling to get through her birthday party last year. I was drunk but functioned...barely. I had to organize everything, run pony rides, do the whole piņata thing, scavenger hunt...entertain the parents. I wonder if they knew I was loaded. I remember feeling like a **** bag for being so drunk. It was so much work to appear normal. I'm so glad I don't have to live like that today. I really regret being drunk and selfish for the first 6 years of her life. I love my kiddo to death! Happy birthday to my baby person. You saved my life and you have no clue.

That's a wonderful realization, congrats and happy B-day to your daughter. I have some awful memories of sneaking beer during many different family events like that too- keeping it hidden in the trunk at gatherings, etc. Just motivation to keep vigilant though, enjoy your day!
Happy Birthday to your little girl! I well remember days and parties like that. Almost shattering into tiny splinters because I was so brittle and drunk and trying to hide it.
It goes so much more smoothly when I'm not drinking and you have shown that to us all by sharing. Thank you.1

Thank you guys.
That was a nice birthday. She had a few friends over for cake. I asked my significant other "was that little boy here last year for the party? I really don't remember." He looked at me funny and said yes. A lot of times, I believe he doesn't realize how much of a problem I have. I truly believe he thinks i am in a phase.
