15 meetings in 7 days

Hi All,

Thought I'd just check in.
Last Sunday was my last day to have a drink.
Monday morning at 6:30 I went to my first meeting, the the noon meeting and did that all week with one 8:00pm meeting thrown in for good measure.

I got a sponsor on Friday night and we meet for the second time next Tuesday morning.

Trying to do the work. So far so good.

Take care,

- D

Congrats on a week snotchy.

I always chuckled at the irony of a fellow client in rehab getting judgmental of others. I'd think, "dude! YOU'RE in REHAB!"

Great job!

When I first was trying to get sober I put a lot of hours into that "project." I was pretty desperate and afraid of losing stuff like my marriage, daily contact with my kids, my job and my self esteem.

I've been sober a few years now, and I'm not going to loss any of those things, they are all on solid ground. I also don't need to put a ton of hours into my sobriety "project" anymore. I've got a routine down that seems to work for me.

My point is, you can accomplish the same thing. It's going to take a little time but it sounds like you are laying a good foundation.

Well by now I'm at 34 meetings as I start my day today.
I've got a sponsor and working on step #2 and tradition #1, Sunday we start step 3.

Things are going well.

Thanks all!

I'll check in again at 30 days when I get my chip.

Nice. Meetings, meetings, meetings. Sponsor, steps. Sounds like you are doing really well. I love this site and I love AA. It's there and on here where my real friends and Allies are. The power of one alcoholic talking to another is truly amazing.

This morning at the 6:30AM meeting, the chair person didn't show up so the four of use sat under a tree and had a meeting. And it was really good one. I happened to have my big book and we were off to the races. Making coffee at noon - bringing cookies!

Have a good one all!
