For anyone on the fence about quitting or not seeing results in the first few months keep on going for, you will see them eventually and it is great.

Ok, so I can officially get excited about the benefits to come. Great motivator, thank you both xx

keep doing what you have been doing.

Congrats, that's awesome.

I'm only about 3+ weeks in myself and the other morning I had a moment like you described but it really only lasted for a few hours. I was so clear headed and happy it was ridiculous. I hope that someday I can feel like that the majority of the time. And your post gives me true hope for that.

AO, woooohooooo!!

Wonderful post!! That happened for me around the year mark, ain't it awesome!

I've had some **** days since then, it's not all awesome all the time. But man I feel like that wonderful period totally recharges our batteries and the stuff can hit the fan tomorrow but it can't take this away.

It will keep getting better, girl!

I'm very happy for you, AO. My brain symptoms are still a struggle after 2 years 5 months and I'm fed up waiting for some modicum of stability. They say for some it may take up to 5 years to get your marbles in order.
Enjoy!!

Hugs, (((((leshar))))))

I hope it gets better for you! We do know by now though that there's no problem out there that drinking can't make worse.

I get you alpha omega - it's like the mental static or white noise that the habitual drunk lives with gradually fades to nothing

I am 11 months sober today myself - thank you for reminding me

That's some good stuff right there. I am very happy for you AO. You could have thrown in the towel at any time, but you didn't. And now you are reaping the benefits that you worked so hard for.

AO your post comes right on time! I have been feeling like I will never be able to keep up mentally and emotionally, that I've ruined myself, but you have shown that it is possible if I stay at it and be patient. Thank you so much and congrats. I'm genuinely happy for you!

Beautiful and inspiring! Oh yes, it does get better!
Maybe not rosy all the time but definitely very much better.
We just need the patience to get there and for me a lot of it was when I began to change my thinking and perception of the world.
I'm so happy for you!

Sober Jedi Mind - isn't it awesome!

Happy to report that it keeps healing too. I'm close to 3 years sober and I just had a huge break through in short term memory this past week.

Brilliant!
