Class of February 2015 Part 4
Hi Mets & Dee - Hope you're doing well!
Mets - Nice going on the weight loss! I am a week and 3 days away from my surgery. Shelled out the money already, which hurt a bit :P
It also sounds like you're re-training your brain in a good way. It's good when you realise you made the right decision immediately.
Some other good news is that I just got my offer on a house accepted! So 2 years sober and I've managed to save enough to get a loan for a house - which isn't too bad
Dee - I hope you're doing well too mate.
Byee!

Hi all, just checking in.
Weight loss continues at a snail's pace, but since I'm thin, it's not as worrisome
In a good sense, my addiction has shifted to working out. December 2nd was the last day I didn't get in a workout of at least 20 minutes. Clearly I have addictive tendencies, but I'd much rather feel a compulsion to rearrange my daily schedule to make sure I hit the gym than to make sure I can hit the bottle.

So now two full years removed from waking up in the hospital and spending the subsequent month wracked with anxiety.
Very happy with the progress I've made in bettering my life.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Thought I'd check in.
Everything doing okay. Am a bit depressed of late so am trying to figure out what to do with myself.
Still sober.
Lost 35kg so far.
In house and managing the payments alright for now.
Thinking about getting a cat for companionship.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hi all,
I'm pretty new to SR, but not new to Sobriety &, most importantly, recovery. February 21st, 2015 is Day One for me. Doesn't seem like this thread is all that active, but I thought I'd at least check in "home" before heading out into the wider forum. Cheers!

Hi and welcome purpleman - no it's not that active now but there are other threads like the Over One Year thread that always welcomes new posters

Congrats on your sober time

Holy cow eh. My birthday tomorrow and it's been... 1399 days since I have consumed large amounts of alcohol. Have had it in cooking and stuff.
Started a new job last week after 13 years in the same one.
Had bariatric surgery 1 1/2 years ago.
Bought a home 1 1/2 years ago.
Getting on with a life.
If I hadn't stopped drinking, I wouldn't be here now, in my own home, talking to you all.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

Whilst this thread is not that active, I just wanted to say that there's at least one person who will never forget February 2015 & the life that started for him on the 21st. "It" didn't necessarily get better, but I certainly did

Purely for self-indulgent purposes I wanted to record that on 21 August (which was yesterday, Aussie time) I hit 4 years & 6 months alcohol free. I'm not much of an "alcohol free-time" recorder these days, essentially I'm just rocking along without alcohol & not thinking about it too much, but I'm certainly grateful & relieved to reach this milestone!

I'm not a huge poster here on SR, & I know the Feb 2015 thread isn't exactly the busiest, but I just wanted to say that today (February 21st 2020, Aussie time) I'm grateful to be 5 years alcohol free.
