HELPING OTHERS

Self-centeredness was my problem. All my life people had been doing things for me and I not only expected it, but I was ungrateful and resentful they didn't do more. Why should I help others, when they were supposed to help me? If others had troubles, didn't they deserve them? I was filled with selfpity, anger and resentment. Then I learned that by helping others, with no thought of return, I could overcome this obsession with selfishness, and if I understood humility, I would know peace and serenity. No longer do I need to drink.
24 more for this grateful alcoholic that is a little lost.

Woo-hoo!! What a fabulous list of Milestoners!! 
I'm in for a Sober Sunday-
So I had a 'ah-hah' moment during my morning bike ride. I like to ride hard and fast for a great cardio workout but my biking partner today was the lingering sort. We sloooowwly rode along and then she was hungry so we stopped for coffee and a pastry and then she window-shopped! I was so impatient that it was hard to enjoy the morning or the 'ride'.
I rarely see her so I finally just took several deep breathes, gave myself a pep talk and allowed myself to go with the flow. My 'ah-hah' moment was that Sobriety is kinda like a long slow bike ride. By taking it one minute, one hour, one day at a time and savoring all the little things along the way, the journey is much less daunting.
And in my case today, much less frustrating-
Wishing everyone peace and patience....xxxx.

I have just been planning out ideas for doing up my room and keeping myself busy helping around the house in hope that I still get to live here...
The website is coming along ok not been doing much with it this last while but will be getting stuck in again very soon and will share the link here for you guys to take a look when it is live...
