I had a lot of dreams right after I quit, good, bad, and just weird. It got better for me. I used to take hot baths and read a lot before bed to help me relax and sleep.

I also had a ton of free time and had to find some things to do that made me feel good. Volunteering, exercise, martial arts, NA meetings, hiking, and art were a few.

I had some very vivid dreams. I think it's very common. They will fade in time

I was almost afraid to go to sleep for the first short while. I've had nightmares all my life and barely know what a good dream is but when I was quitting, they were so bad I dreaded them. They really didn't last long though. Also, night sweats. Waking up cold but clammy, yuck!

Last night was much better. I think the violent dreams came from my anger at having to quit. /armchairpsychology

Thats normal, i had some pretty bad vivid dreams at first, now im back to not rememberig much of them a little over a week later. You might want to soak your bowl and whatever else you got in alcohol or some type of cleaner so you dont have the option to scrape res.

Yup very vivid dreams for me to. Not many nightmares, but a lot about this girl I had a fling with a couple years ago who I really liked even though she decided to move on. I was pretty much over her, but the quitting dreams brought her back. I wouldn't wake up scared, but really sad and disappointed that my dream hadn't become reality. I blamed my feelings on weed and it helped a lot.

Instead of scraping/cleaning your bowl, why not throw the damn thing away? Getting rid of the bong, grinder, and other paraphernalia really helped me not have an easy way to go back in the beginning.

Came back to this thread to see what day I quit. Wow, day 11 today.
Thanks for all the support. I notice I only get cravings for weed when I overeat and get too full, so I have to watch that.

Yes indeed! Congrats. I quit a month ago after only a short run and am surprised daily at how things are firing upstairs.

Happy Day 11! Glad you are feeling better. And you, Attaboy. It's cool to feel the benefits and get some reward after all the difficulty of quitting. At first it seemed all bad, then some bad/some good, then all good.

I'm bored and want to smoke. I never play my guitar anymore after not smoking. Coming up on two months. Time flies. My life just sucks though. Years of addiction catching up with me. No job, worried I may have to move, avoiding talking to my "roommate" about it. Just feeling down. Thanks for letting me vent.

I just re-read this thread and the "we got your back" made me smile.

Vent away. It took me quite a few months to get back into playing guitar but when I did, I was better than when I was stoned. I felt quite bland for quite a while, like nothing was interesting/exciting. That did change thankfully and I got my spark for life back. It's a long process, just be glad you have made it so far! That's a HUGE achievement that many people would love to be able to say they accomplished. I'd pat yourself on the back and look forward to more changes as time goes on.

Yup, bored and unmotivated, sounds pretty familiar. In fact, I've been struggling with it and massive cravings today as well, so you aren't alone. Boredom has easily been my #1 trigger throughout this whole thing. It's getting better for me, hopefully will for you soon too. I consider myself to be a part of this site's certified venting club and we're always accepting new members, so have at it.
