Salvation Army Drug Program
Hello! Does anyone have any information on the Salvation Army's Drug Program? I'm thinking of putting my son there when he is released from jail in October. I have heard good things and bad things.
I know he will continue to need help when he gets out. The kind of help I can't give him and I don't know where else to go.

I saw the programs in action first hand when my son went to them (yes, he went to more than one) and they were as fine a program as I have ever seen. The long term programs are often the more helpful, keep in mind it takes 1-3 months for the addict to adjust to sobriety physically and emotionally and find his/her balance, but even the 90 day program was very good, in my opinion.
Truthfully, I think the success of any program is dependent on the participant's willingness to work it.
Hugs

Thanks so much Ann. I feel better knowing that I have a plan in place now for when he is released. I appreciate everyone's input. Sounds like Salvation Army is a good place for us to start.
