prayer for addicted loved one
Here is a prayer that a friend wrote for my AS. I post it with the thought that others here might want to make it their own.
Gracious God of power and love, you move the stars in the sky. With the power that is yours alone, move the heart and soul and mind of your precious child (name), that he may embrace healing and wholeness and move with you and your power and strength through the darkness into Light. May he find you and your love and forgiveness so great a Goodness that he will live in your light and love and be a blessing to all who know him. With gratitude and love for this child (name). Amen

Men may spurn our appeals, reject our message, oppose our arguments, despise our persons - but they are helpless against our prayers.
I found this in a book written by Ruth Bell Graham about prodigals ...
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

helpless against our prayers - i love that - so many times people say "all i can do is pray" well if you ask me that is the most powerful and productive thing we can do! thank you for sharing that beautiful prayer!
Take life's hurdles in stride,
Loosen the reins,
Be free spirited,
Keep the burrs from under your saddle,
Carry your friends when they need it,
Keep stable and spur yourself on to greatness.
