Need input...

... from the brothers and sisters in the room down the hall...
http://www.sobermusicians.com/literature/basictext.html

Although I've had one for years, I'm presently without a copy.
Gave it away.
And since I hang in the other fellowship, I'm asking you guys for advice and suggestions.
First of all, the text I found on the internet...
Is is accurate? Who should I cite a proper copyright to? WSO? Etc...
Maybe these simple questions will turn into one of those area business meetings...
Anyway, just wanting to do the right thing by the sister fellowship.

You are the bomb, you are absolutely wonderful, I hope someday I can be a little bit like you. I don't know it looked good to me and I book marked it I haven't read it all word for word but that is going to help me in getting my format now. THanks

Love Vic

I'm just painfully aware that there's a few NA literature and traditions experts 'round here, and really hope that they see fit to educate me on the do's and dont's of carrying the message through reproducing the text online, on a not for profit website.
I really have no clue what I'm doing, and I can't afford a lawyer

Vic, I wouldn't wish being like me on anyone.
You're doing just fine, bro.
Just don't drink or use today, eh

HOW DARE YOU DAN!!!!

THAT IS AGAINST ARTICLE 27 CODE V SUBSECTION i OF THE OFFICIAL NA RULE BOOK....."NO POSTING OF BASIC TEXT ONLINE BY MUSICALLY INCLINED PEOPLE IN RECOVERY"

But seriously, I don't see what would be wrong with having it posted on your site......various parts of it are posted in different areas around the web already........but then again, I'm no trditions guru. (I personally believe the more that people get to see the text, the better.)

Keep up the good work dude!

I know.
It's not like I'm asking for permission either
I just don't have a copy on hand, and I know very little about it's origins.
All I want is to accurately reflect where it came from and who holds the copyright, etc... All the while keeping in mind the trads of your fellowship.
And if someone tells me Hazelden holds the ©, I'll throw a temper tantrum.

somehow the term "intellectual property" used in conjunction with the term "addict" has always cracked the corners of my lips into the beginnings of an ear stretching grin.

This addicts take is that making the message available via whatever means outweighs the potential toe troddding that might occur.

I mean after all the entire world services archive was rumored to have been stored in the trunk of Jimmy K's car for a while.

The white book was helping addicts get clean while the drafts of the Basic Text were a gleam in the eye of a potential literature committee.

Good on ya bro.
