Stupid dreams
I've been having these dumb dreams lately. They are using dreams but I don't want to use even in the dream. They make no sense. I'll be somewhere where drugs are all around but I won't want any but then all of a sudden I'll have it in my hands and I'll be smoking it. Then I'll be all like oh crap how did that happen and all upset because I screwed up my clean time and now I have to start all over again. Then I wake up all relieved to find out it's just a dream. Wierd. I even dream about drugs I didn't like. You would think I would dream about my DOC but so far all I've done is dream about other drugs that I probably wouldn't do even if I did really relapse. Anyway I wish they would go away, stupid dreams.

I don't know why they call them "using" dreams. I very rarely actually get high in my "drug" dreams (that's what I prefer to call them). But just last night I had one in which I was surrounded by my drug of choice and trying to figure out how I could get away with using some. Often, in these dreams, I have been drinking and I'm trying to make it not be a relapse. Crazy stuff!

I've had some doozies over the years...I think the worst was using one of those straight air pumps for footballs to shoot up with...It was the worst dream..I used puddle water from a giant pot hole... And just as I got this monster syringe to my arm, I woke up in a cold sweat. I also never manage to get high in my dreams either, something always happens or I wake up first. The only good side to the dreams is that they actually disgust me so much I don't want to use.
feeling I have when I wake up helps keep me from using also.

I actually found this board looking for recovery here... one of Moontime's post showed up. I joined the forum, dropped him an IM and got his number. I gave him a call and he pointed me to meetings here. He is a really cool guy, as is his sponser. BTW, for those of you that know him, the Greatfull Dead logo is apt!! I knew exactly who he was before he introduced himself!
Now I know what to look for if he ever makes it down here for a campout or convention!
