Yeah, it is.
What would you like to know about it?
Is it that you're wondering if the alcohol flowing through my veins when I'm active is more or less dangerous than, say, meth? Or cocaine?
What if I was to tell you that of all the drugs and substances I've known and experienced, drinking alcohol is the one thing that almost killed me the most times.
I don't need to show you my arms, nor tell you about my wrecked sinus cavities.
Alcohol made my life unmanageable.
Now, let me ask you a question Bruce, if I may.
What are you looking for here?

You might find it interesting that a study was done in San Diego years ago by a woman doctor who did autopsies on brains of dead alcoholics and heroin addicts. There was absolutely no difference between the two! Both chemicals did exactly the same damage to the brain anyway.
One difference is you might feel like you're gonna die withdrawing from Heroin but you can die withdrawing cold turkey off Alcohol. Go figure
Not all better, getting better

Uhmm .. the name of the site is Soberrecovery.
the Narcotics Anonymous forum is a subset of the alcoholism and addictions forums.
yeah Bruce there are a lot of people who think there are differences. If we are fortunate we get to help them live long enough to get straight and find their own path to recovery. Maybe some of them even stick around long enough to look beyond the manifestations of addiction and teh substances to deal with the root cause of self obsession.

Bruce, you sound more concerned about the purist than personal recovery.
WHY IS THAT?
Sometimes we have to let things go.
UnSpiritual people lack certain characteristics associated with spiritual growth!
Some people bet the lives on this way of life and want others to get this this called recovery in Narcotics Anonymous, the ones who are doing it keep doing it, the ones who B!TCH about it, well you know the rest.
God puts all types of people in our lives, we either become humble and go wwith it, or become humiliated because we don't know how to stop playing God.
Good luck with that.
Peace,
Todd J.

In fact I had a few friends ( thank God for them.. they helped me stick around on several occasions) who used to turn the racks (with non NA material) around when they walked into a meeting .. "implied endorsements" you know?
Bruce .. it takes all kinds and we've got them. Our diversity truly is our strenmgth. In the long run I really believe God knows what he's doing when he throws us all together. It's analogous to setting sail in a boat that has a few leaks but will ultimately get us there as long as we take turns bailing.
peace brother.
