638 days sober
638 days sober
Hello,
I thought I'd pop back here, as this is somewhere I began my journey of sobriety.
Today I am grateful for 638 days sober, and god willing I'll reach my 2 years in June.
I am also grateful for:
New friends,
Connection,
AA meetings,
A sponsor - a mentor that has helped me along my journey that has already been on a journey of sobriety and believes in me,
Some money saved,
Having a better relationship with family,
Self-discovery & understanding myself a little better,
Having a plan, a daily reprieve from drink,
A power greater than myself that get's me though; god, the universe, mother nature, karma or whatever that force is.
Life experiences big and small,
Being able to feel good, & experiencing moment of genuine happiness & contentment,
Knowing that I'm not alone,
The journey,
Salty water; tears, sweat and the sea,
The heartbreak, lessons, and narrow escapes,
Breaking, the rock bottoms, and letting go,
A roof over my head,
Food in my belly,
Flowers on my desk,
Nature,
The weather; the wind, the sun, (not so much the rain and cold),
Hope,
Wind chimes,
Small steps & big ones,
Being able to walk & having my health,
Facing fear & learning courage,
Learning & books,
youtube,
Music!
Movies & duvets!!
Chocolate & cake!!
Apples & fruit,
Being able to say No,
Being able to say Yes,
Waking up every day without a hangover,
The excitement of a new ideas,
Allowing myself to dream while keeping two feet on the ground,
For following the white rabbit,
The small window of opportunity that I was able to turn myself around,
The guy that helped me begin,
This site,
I'm not where I want to be, but I'm not where I used to be, and I accept where I am today, and take small steps for my future, in the hope that I may help others. I hope that my higher power gives me strength to correct the areas of myself, and my life that are still wrong today.
With love to everyone where ever you are.
