Thanks for posting this! Seems hopeful. I sure do wish they what causes it and that someday they will find a cure for it. I've had 4 relatives with schizophrenia. 3 of them were not medicated and everyone just dealt with them the best they could. My grandmother on my dad's side was medicated and she was pleasant. She was institutionalized in the 1940's and was left in the state psyche hospital for about 20's years. Her husband put her there...and divorced her at some point in time without her knowledge.. After her husband died, her children went through the hoops and got her out of there.

Being there for long plus being schizophrenic left an impact on her and she was unable to live alone; she needed supervision, etc. I am glad that we grandchildren were able to know her, love her, do some fun things with her...she was a good grandma and her GREAT grandchildren called her "Granny".
