I was once. For awhile he adored me--but I found out that it was just because he saw in me a mirror of admiration. When the time came that I needed emotional support he got very uncomfortable and backed off.

I had a previous relationship with an addict who had hallmarks of NPD.
I'm still healing from the emotional pain inflicted over 5 years ago.
I avoid people who show the traits as much as possible now.
There was a very good website I used to look at which helped somewhat.
I don't remember now what it was but I'm sure Google can help.... Good luck

Yes my last gf displayed a lack of empathy and constantly put me in situations where I had to choose between me and her. Like call off work and come see me right now. Drop what you are doing and come here now. I became completely emotionally drained and mentally exhausted during this relationship.
