1 year today!!!
I am so proud of my husband everyday, but especially today.
Today he is 1 year sober....thanks in no small part to the support, friendship, and knowledge he found on SR.
He's faced challenge after challenge this past year; loss of job, loss of lifestyle, loss of respect (from some people who really don't matter...) and yet he never gave up on believing in himself. Oh, he also finished his Bachelor's degree this year!
Sure, times are hard for us financially right now, but I'd rather live in my car with sober him than have our previous lifestyle complete with "disposable income" when he was drunk or hungover 24/7.
I won't embarrass him by mentioning him by his SR handle. Hopefully it will embarrass him -privately- when he reads this
