Has anyone used Neurotin (Gabapentin) for Alcohol Withdrawal?

I have been a Chronic Relapser for years. In and out of Detox and Hospitals....I finally learned their system and I started to detox myself. I have done it many times with xanax and klonapin. I even have mixed it up by using Neurotin and Xanax. It has worked in the past. This time I am using Neurotin all by itself. 600 mg 3 times a day. I am on day 5 without a drink and I am still feeling shaky and a bit clouded. I checked on the Internet and I read that if I stop taking Neurotin abruptly that I could have a seizure. I have only been on it for 4 1/2 days. Anyone know if this will be a problem? I know if I make it past today without drinking that I am in past the peak of when I could get DTs. This makes me happy, but now I am afraid to stop the Neurotin. Any feedback would be awesome. I am sick and tired of being an alcoholic. My life is in shambles and I am totally worthless in society right now. No more relapses.

We can not give medical advice...nor should you rely on any
of our expereinces ...there are too many variables to genralize.

Please do ask a professional for assistance...this is serious stuff
Read the printed material that comes with the med...then
call your doctor about how best to de tox.

BTW...I too am an alcoholic and did not use any meds for my
successful de tox that was finished by day 4.
I have no expereince with any of the drugs you mentioned.

Hope this will be your time for lasting sobriety...
Welcome back to SR.
