Giant Baby
I had to take care of the 47 yr old baby again today. It involved a long, long litany of things that I won't bore you with. This baby never leaves me and it requires so much care I can't being to tell you.

Yesterday the baby fell in love again. The beloved doesn't smoke cigarettes and the baby was doing that again. To make a long story short I substituted the instant gratification of smoking a cigarette with a long, slow hit of nicotine that it wears on it's side. It cannot put that one down, it has to take it all the time.

When the emotional issues that used to take a puff to fix arose there was nothing the baby could do. I went home and got it's old lithium and took 300mg. Hopefully things will get better next time.
baby, does talking about the things that lead to the using help? Might that take the edge off enough to not need the hit?
Things usually ease up if we give them enough time...but the giving enough time can be a pretty overwhelming challenge.
Is there a way to take baby for a swing, or give it a pat on the butt (in the nice way) or something like that, until the tantrum subsides?
That is my constant challenge lately.
