I am grateful to be a sponsor!
The past 1 year and 11 months I have had the support of so many women. I would not be sober without their love and support. I never thought I'd be able to show that love and support to other women.
Well, like the promises say, I have learned how to handle situations that used to baffle me...this week, a girl asked me to be her sponsor. This is a huge deal for me...I never thought I'd be able to help myself, let alone someone else. Someone wants what I have, and I get to share with them the tools I have learned in AA. Light bulb - I finally get why the 12th is so important!
I asked my sponsor if it was wrong to feel as good as it does working with a sponsee, and she said absolutely not! Why else would she be sponsoring women in the program?!
I have had one of the spiritual experiences described in the Big Book. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for my sobriety, AA, and being able to carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers.
