Well no wonder I'm feeling bad, you think?

No wonder I'm feeling so bad? I just went off Risperdal, I just started drinking again after 27 days and stopped and it's only been 1 day, I just am stopping Lamictal again which is a DREADFUL experience. But in the long run there will be a fine reward..... peace and joy...

Thanks Rowan, and it's one of the only things that I can pinpoint stone about why I feel so bad all the time, I didn't feel this bad when I was off these meds before.

((Paulos))

I wish you only the best, but,
Did you talk to your doctor about this?

I'm very concerned.
Remember, Barb and I both let our doc's know what we were doing.
There *can* be dangerous side effects to stopping some of these meds...

Please at least let the doc know so that you can be made aware if there is any possible danger to be alerted to....Don't play doctor on yourself, Paulos. You don't have the degree, and none of us do either!

Shalom!

Paulos, I too am worried about you and completely agree with the other posters. Please talk with a doctor about this. Change doctors if you don't feel the doctor you are seeing is treating you properly. I don't want to see your struggle get worse because you stopped taking meds without discussing it with your doctor.

(((Paulos)))

I'm not going to suggest AA again. You went to a meeting and now, at this point in time, it's not for you. I can respect that.

I know you aren't up to going to any group therapy or anything, at least not now, but do you have a therapist or someone you can talk to on an individual basis about what's going on, besides your Dr.'s who prescribe your meds? I'm just wondering if a one on one therapist would benefit you. I know many people benefit from counseling. It helped me tremendously with my depression and PTSD. Sometimes medications aren't always the only answer.

I do hope that the right combination of meds and whatever else is missing that is keeping you from finding the happiness that you are searching for will come into your life soon.

God Bless,
Judy

Thanks for your concern all, yeah I'm still on 75mg of Lamictal... in a few days I'll be down to 50mg, I know I should be following a doc's info but they're the ones who crammed this crap down my throat in the first place only making me worse...

I hear you, Paulos...
And the same is true with both Barb and I.
And we both took responsiblity for our lives and stopped taking the meds that were making us ill.

But, Paulos,
We both consulted our docs when we stopped taking them too!
It's important!
Because stopping meds can have it's own consequences!

Please let your doc know so that you can be aware of any dangers.
For example, sometimes, stopping a med can cause seizures!!!

No one here is a doctor; no one here can give you medical advice.
You need medical advice.
Honestly.
For your health's sake.
Or you could end up much worse.

Shalom!

I agree with Teach and them.
I don't know you like they do....but....i do know that a couple weeks ago I couldn't find my Lamictal and thought I could manage okay until i found it or got to my doc for a refill.

Well, after just a week without it I fell hard into a world of hurt!!! I hadn't realized how much it was helping my depression!! I'm back on it now, but have been struggling since.

I've had a LOT of bad psychiatrists in the past 4 years....which is why I have switched several times and finally have one I like. I still continue to educate myself as much as I can....and try to help myself stay as healthy as i possibly can tho. I still don't take everything my pdoc says at face value, but he does listen when i tell him what meds i don't want and why. And he doesn't force them on me. He works with me.

It has to be a partnership.
Pdocs can be great resources and helps if you work with them and find one who knows what they are doing and cares enough to listen. But you also have to be a little open to listening to them some too.

I bet if your doc knew what was going on with you right now....that he/she would be open to working on helping you switch meds.

Also....i don't know your background, but i do know that addiction and mental illnesses usually go hand-in-hand. AND when one is out of whack....it affects the other. So.....you really can't expect to get and keep yourself sobe unless you are also focusing on keeping yourself mentally healthy also.

Just my 2 cents,

Hugs,
Jenna
