500 days! Woot!
500 days! Woot!
Don't you love milestones? 500 days sounds pretty cool and in fact, for me, it's a good deal different from one year in that I'm more relaxed and confident in my recovery and life in general.
I still think about drinking sometimes but those thoughts don't last too long as I remind myself there is just no moderation for me now or ever.
I've started running some and try to run several 5Ks a week. I've run one 10K but that about killed me. Maybe I'll build up to an occasional 10K though.
I'm thinking about getting an expresso machine. Those can be pretty expensive but it's nice to justify buying stuff when you consider how much all that alcohol cost, isn't it?
Next month I'll have quit smoking for 10 years. I've lost 30 pounds and want to lose 10 more (actually I lost those 10 but they found me again).
Life isn't perfect but I'm enjoying it more it seems. Recovery is slow but steady. If you are early in your recovery, give it time.
Sorry for the disjointed post. Just wanted to check in and wish everyone well. Do whatever it takes to keep alcohol out of your body and I hope you get to where you want to be. BJ
